( Great facilities and wonderful courts ) This turned out to be a great tournament.
Legends of Women’s Handball square off on Sunday as Anna Christoff faces Lisa Fraser in the final of the Women’s Classic. Christoff rebounded from a first-game loss against Megan Mehilos (shown taking a backwall against Christoff), and won two convincing games, including an 11-0 tie breaker to advance. Meanwhile, Lisa Fraser withstood a run by Jennifer Schmitt in the secong game to advance to Sunday’s final. syoss-2 Video
Dan Danilczyk and Rosemary Bellini at the Syosset games. Rosemary Bellini was the first Women’s Champion in 1980, and successfully defended her title for four of the first five years of the event. No one has dominated handball like Rosemary Bellini who controlled the Women’s field in the early ’80s. An excellent athlete, Rosemary also excelled at softball. An aggressive front-court shooter, Rosemary’s strength was her strong right hand and court savvy. That style carried over to three- and one-wall play, where she powered her way past her competition for many years.
As the first Women’s champion, it was most appropriate that Rosemary was the first female inducted into the USHA Handball Hall of Fame at a gala affair in Denver. http://www.ushandball.org/

From what I remember Rosemary won this game with Vincent. Mario ( a great four wall champion) and Artie Reyer (Hall of Fame) may disagree, but they probable don’t even remember this game at Cedar Creek. Click on the picture.
